About Paradise

Paradise Elementary School

Paradise Elementary School is located in rural Lancaster County. Our school is conveniently located right near Route 30. However, our views include beautiful farms and even a covered bridge.  We are proud of our school and school district. Our nearly 400 students come from surrounding towns of Paradise, Gap, Intercourse, Gordonville, Kinzers, New Holland, Strasburg, and Ronks.

Students attend Kindergarten through 6th grade before transitioning to our middle school. The experienced teachers at Paradise Elementary School meet the individual needs of each student. This is done through a variety of whole group and small group learning experiences. As a Title I school, we benefit from additional resources and personnel to provide remediation and enrichment opportunities. We follow the State endorsed Response to Instruction and Intervention model for instructional support.

Our students combine academic studies with social learning. We use common guidelines to create a school-wide focus; at Paradise Elementary, we believe in Respect for Self, Respect for Others, and Respect for the World Around Us. These areas of focus create a learning environment that encourages good choices and consideration for all.

We moved into our new environmentally-friendly school in January 2009, which combined our smaller schools of Leacock Elementary and the old Paradise Elementary into one team. Our building was constructed in a manner that is considerate of learning needs, but also the Earth’s resources. We use geo-thermal heating and cooling, sensors that dim artificial lighting based on the amount of sunlight, and other “green” technologies. Our school is also equipped with technology that enhances instruction and learning. Staff and students alike enjoy utilizing the mobile laptop labs, SMART Boards in the classrooms, and iPads.
